Our offices can be found on the beautiful Sowerby Bridge Wharf in the heart of the Pennines, which makes us well-placed for the established financial centres of Halifax, Leeds, Bradford, and Manchester, but, more importantly, easily-accessible to the small businesses of the Calder Valley, whose reputation for innovation, imagination and expertise is second to none. We’ve been looking after the tax-payers of Sowerby, Ripponden, Rishworth, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, and just about everywhere else on the Tops, or in the Valley for more than 30 years.
Our service to you
We provide a full accountancy and taxation service for all. We also offer a Payroll Bureau, and professional help with all sorts of VAT, Construction Industry, and Inheritance Tax issues. Whether your tax return papers arrive in a single envelope, or you have to fill your firm’s van to bring us your year-end books and records, you’re guaranteed the same care and attention to detail. If you’ve never completed a tax return before, are thinking about setting up in business, or wondering just what you’ve let yourself in for by deciding to become a Company Director then don’t worry!
We look after people just like you.
Anything else?We don’t mind if you’d like us to open early, stay late, or even book an appointment on a Saturday. We don’t mind if you bring a friend along for moral support, or even bring the children. We should probably add that there’s plenty of free parking outside, and plenty of pubs and restaurants and coffee-shops nearby that many of our clients like to use as “alternative meeting rooms”. And if you’ve got time to spare when visiting us, then why not take a wander around the historic Wharf and Canal Basin and see if you can spot all the locations used by film and TV companies, not least in Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley.
Ken set up the business in 1977 after working for the previous seven years as the Company Accountant for a large group of companies based in Halifax and centred around the engineering and building trades.
Most accountants come from an entirely office-based background and can find it hard to relate to the everyday needs of a manufacturing or trading company.
Ken always says there’s nothing like the experience of managing your own business from day to day and that good financial management whilst keeping an eye on tax planning is a sure-fire shortcut to success.
